Dr. Harold Riemer and Kim Dorsch have compiled the results of the SHA Bodychecking Research Project. The results can be found below. The project, which examined the effects of the early implementation of body checking in Saskatchewan, is now completed. Conducted by members of the Motivation and Active Living Laboratory at the University of Regina, the researchers collected information over a period of 5 years from over 1500 people in Saskatchewan (where body checking was introduced at Atom) and Alberta (where body checking was introduced at Peewee). More than 500 children and almost 1000 parents (mothers and fathers) took part in the project. |
