The first game saw a much older and experienced U of S Huskie team dominate the first 7 minutes of the game but a very determined Team Sask with stood the attack and turned the tides quickly and defeated the U of S 2-1.
Saturday nights game was much the same as Friday nights game. Team Saskatchewan was noticeably less tired than Friday night and outplayed and out hustled the U of R for most of the game. However, with some solid goaltending from Lisa Urban, the U of R was able to defeat Team Sask 3-1 with an empty netter.
Sunday afternoon was the U-18’s last chance to impress the coaching staff in hopes of making the 23 player roster which will compete in the University of Alberta tournament Sept. 26-28. A very determined Team Sask came out and dominated early and often and easily defeated the U of R 6-3.
Immediately following the game, Team Saskatchewan was reduced to 23 players to compete for 20 roster spots to play at the U-18 Women’s National Championships in Napanee, Ont, Nov. 5-9. The 3 remaining players will be named alternates. The 23 player roster is listed below.
