In 2002, the Saskatchewan Hockey Association created the SHA Legacy Fund. This fund was created to provide a reserve fund to be used for the continued development and promotion of amateur hockey in Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan is recognized nationally as a hotbed for hockey. Despite its small population, the province has produced a number of national championship teams and has developed a number of professional and international players. The province has also developed a reputation for having excellent coaches and officials. Some of these accomplishments can be attributed to the strong grass-root development programs of the SHA. However, the passion for the game shared by the people of the province is the reason the for the success of Saskatchewan teams and athletes. The SHA is aware that hockey in Saskatchewan is community-centred and that the game teaches participants valuable life skills such as teamwork and discipline as evidenced by our slogan: "Shaping character for life ... more than a game." By donating to the SHA Legacy Fund, you'll leave a legacy to the children and future generations. Your donation will ensure:
